Today we have picked up a full day tour to the western part of the island.
First stop San Anton Gardens, which is the grounds of a palace.
San Anton Palace (Maltese: Il-Palazz Sant'Anton) is a palace in Attard, Malta, that currently serves as the official residence of the president of Malta. It was originally built in the early 17th century as a country villa for Antoine de Paule, a knight of the Order of St. John. It was expanded into a palace following de Paule's election as Grand Master in 1623.
Onward to Dingli cliffs, not that we spent much time there as it was blowing a gale.
There was a little church near the cliff.
Onto Rabat and Medina. Medina was the original settlement of the Saint John Knights but soon decided close to the sea was better for trading hence the Three Cities.
We stop to see some catacombs in Rabat.
Then into the fortified city of Medina.
Mosta (Maltese: Il-Mosta) is a small but densely populated city in the Northern Region of Malta. The most prominent building in Mosta is the Rotunda, a large basilica built by its parishioners' volunteer labour. It features the world's third largest unsupported dome, and displays a replica of a German bombshell that famously crashed through the dome during World War II but did not detonate upon impact.
